Persistent Depressive Disorder, also known as dysthymia, is a chronic form of depression characterized by low mood lasting for at least two years. It is less severe than major depression but can still significantly impact daily life. Common signs include:
- Chronic low mood lasting for months or years.
- Lack of energy or interest in activities.
- Sleep disturbances (either too much or too little).
- Low self-esteem or feelings of hopelessness.
How is PDD Treated?
• Medication: Antidepressants to improve mood.
• Therapy: CBT to change negative thinking patterns.
• Lifestyle Adjustments: Exercise, sleep hygiene, and proper nutrition
